Wing/Cat Eyeliner, 3 Looks!

So it's no secret that I.Love.Winged.Liner! I pretty much wing my liner out on a daily basis and I think it best fits my eye shape. I know there are people out there though who don't know how or of any good ways to rock the cat eye without defaulting to pin up or 50's-esque looks.

Now granted, while I'm also a huge lover of retro makeup, I tried to come up with 3 modern and relatively easy ways to style the eye.

I got my inspiration from a makeup magazine I purchased a few weeks ago (I'll post the name soon, I left it at work!) and the outfit I was wearing.

The first is definitely the easiest, a simple black on white cat eye. I LOVE really toned down eye looks like this because then you can do whatever you want with your lips and get away with it. You could go from violet, to fire engine red to barbie pink lips and it'd all look good with such a subtle eye look.

Next I went with a look I've been meaning to try for FOREVER. I love yellow shadows but have found a yellow eye is extremely hard to pull off. The color rarely looks good on most skin tones and you really need to get the perfect bright, not muddy yellow to do it right.

Last I did a toned down smokey eye with some thicker liner. Being as pale as I am, I normally never wear black shadow (or liner for that matter, I usually go with brown) as it always makes me look too harsh or punky. To avoid that issue, I went with cool browns and taupes to build up the smokey effect and added the drama with the liner. Still very wearable but not as subtle as the 1st look :)

I hope you enjoy, I'll stop blabbering now!

XOXOXO

Snazzy Eyes, Coral Lips Makeup Tutorial

I said I'd be back quick with a new tutorial and here it is! A snazzy, shimmery eye look with bright coral lips!  I decided to do this look after getting the new L'Oreal Colour Riche Caresse Aqua Lip Lacquer in Coral Tattoo. I've always been a huge fan of coral lip colors, but have had the worst time finding a shade that suits me without looking too orange or harsh against my skin.

I've finally found it, this color is beautiful and the formula feels amazing!! I've heard from other bloggers/youtubers that these lip lacquers are supposed to be dupes for a YSL lip line, but I can't really speak to that. YSL is far too rich for my blood! I'll take their word for it though, because for the price, this is a wonderful lip product!

OK, enough babbling, enjoy the tutorial! Don't forget to comment if you like the look!

Berry Champagne Inspired Makeup Tutorial

I'm back!! Been a little slow in filming over the last few weeks, but I'm back with 2 new videos! (the other will be up shortly)

I don't have a whole lot to say about this tutorial. I was just experimenting with looks and really liked this one. It's a great shimmery/deep holiday look and I think would go great dressed up or down.

Like the crazy hairpiece? ;)

Birthday Presents!!! I'm old.......

Ugh... I'm getting old! But getting old's not so bad when it means presents! Yesterday was my birthday and my lovely boyfriend took me out to pick out a present. I ended up going with the Too Faced Sweet Indulgences palette and an 11th Doctor calendar :) Steve lets me geek out and glam out at the same time <3

Above are the shadow swatches, from left to right.

The top 2 swatches are the bronzers, below are the blushes and to the right is the highlight.

All in all, I had an amazing birthday! I love my new makeup and it was especially awesome for the value! I normally don't buy Too Faced that often because of the price vs quantity, but for $52, this kit comes with 16 shadows, 2 bronzers, 2 blushes, a highlighter, full size primer and a double ended brush. Phew! It's all really nice quality and the blushes and highlighter are especially nice!

Aaaaaaaand I can't wait to put up my Doctor Who calendar at work ;)

Till next time!
xoxoxo

Florence + The Machine Spectrum Inspired Makeup Tutorial

2 Tutorials in a week!? Told you I wasn't being lazy during my hiatus :D
First disclaimer: Yes, my hair is nuts in this video. I really wanted to have long hair for this look and had some red clip in extensions that I haven't used in a while that I knew would work. The only problem?  I recently colored my hair more of a copper/auburn red and I had dyed the extensions the deep red I used to have.

The outcome? Serious multi-tone, goooofy looking hair, but for the purposes of this video, I think it worked well enough :) Also, I wasn't in the mood to cut my bangs (Trying to grow them out!) So pardon the hair in the face!

ANYWAY, back to the video! I'm a huge fan of all Florence + The Machine music videos but I've been wanting to do this one for a while. The music video is glamorous, over the top and has.glitter.everywhere! That's usually an instant win for me. I'll stop my blabbering here... Enjoy the video!

XOXOXO

Rose Gold Inspired Makeup Tutorial

This look was inspired by rose gold jewelry. I've been in LOVE with it lately (like the rest of the world) and did this look getting ready for work one day. When I was done, it really made me think of some rose gold jewelry I've been drooling over and wanting to buy, so I wanted to do a tutorial for it :) It's simple, elegant and classy, perfect for day or night.

Enjoy!
